How private really is my surfing history?
You read all the time about how suspects have their web history made public via the police. While not a criminal, how secure is my surfing information at my server? Can my boss call up the server and get my surfing information?
You can change your privacy options. In FF, Tools > Options > Privacy and uncheck “Keep history”. It’s similar in IE, but I’d have to open it to see exactly where it is. If you don’t save history it isn’t saved elsewhere on your computer. Your company could monitor web traffic, however, before it ever gets to your computer. If it’s a large company, there’s a good chance they do.
